by Anton Brzezinski Current as of Fri March 30,2012 - For those of you following the progress on my animated feature, I gave weeks of thought to it and having read and watched a lot of Shakespeare I decided, if it puts me to sleep, it would put audiences to sleep. At the instant I decided this a fan told me I should write a book about my life experiences. I was put back for a moment. There is my biography, "False Memories, Adventures of the Living Dali" selling right now on Amazon, a zillion booksellers and eBay. I mentioned this and they said "No, I mean first person." So at that instant was born the idea of doing an animated feature film BIOGRAPHY. More news soon on that.
My art collectors will be happy to know my Etching press is on it's way. So there will be new collectible artworks for sale this year. Lithographs are run off on a motorized
press and worthless, Giclees have become a joke and glut on the market, but collectors know each copper etching is hand inked and done individually in a long process that hasn't changed since Rembrandt. You'll know these are individual and worth being signed and numbered, because you'll see videos and photos of me printing them by hand. A good webpage on "What is a traditional copper etching" is here:
- What is an etching? -
March 17th 2012 I know my painting collectors are waiting for more artwork, but they should remember surrealists are notorious for crating things in many medias. Dali himself was involved in film, jewlery, books and other projects. I got the urge to complete a full length movie, and began writing scripts a couple of months ago. To keep it from becoming an unfinished diaster like Delirium was, I worked to keep it simple in design, something I could film in a reasonable time with few actors and few sets.I tried to shoehorn the project into an under $16,000 budget including camera equiptment, which meant shooting Hi Definiton video, and had just about created a story that could be done, when I realized the logistics of shooting even the simplist live action movie at a professional looking level are beyond that budget. So currently I'm working on an animarted project, because it's something I believe I can do well with computers working in my small office/studio. Gone is the need to pay professional actors for key roles. Gone also is the expense of renting rehearal rooms at Dreamland Studios in Arlington for a soundstage. Gone is the need to scout locations. Now it can be done on a desktop.
The right programs for animation are expensive, but the cost of filming in CGI is still half what it would have been.
